Bridges of Warwickshire County
This afternoon we took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and had a walk along the Greenway. This is the bed of the old railway line that used to run between Stratford and Cheltenham , but was dismantled years ago. It is now a footpath and cycle way for a distance of about 5 miles from Stratford.
This structure (which looks very much as though it was made from Meccano) is called Stannells Bridge, and spans the River Avon. The stretch of water that the bridge is over is called The Stannells and is a favourite spot for local anglers. This sunset view is taken looking away from Stratford.
We had no sooner arrived home when the heavens opened once more. You know what they say about the righteous?
