Roadtrip

The Minx and I love a road trip, so there was no way we were going to settle for a journey home that simply consisted of the A14 and the M6. Instead, we set off up towards King's Lynn and somewhere along the way decided that we'd quite like to look out over the sea. 

After some quick map work by the Minx, we turned off the A17 at Sutton Bridge and followed the River Nene northwards. We went up to Guy's Head and saw the old lighthouses standing sentinel either side of the river, through Gedney Grove End, and then Holbeach St Matthew and Holbeach St Marks. Despite the promising names of these last two, we didn't ever see the sea but we did enjoy ourselves all the same.

Once we got back home, the miniMinx and I went for a swim and then we all headed down to Fallowfield to have tea with Charlie and Hannah. I know it's not the crispest of photos but it captured the moment perfectly.
