Daresbury

Today I went down to the Sci-Tech 'science and innovation campus' at Daresbury, which was, once upon a time, slightly more interestingly known as the Daresbury Nuclear Physics Laboratory.

I wouldn't say visit an extraordinary number of places like this but, on the other hand, I think I see more than my fair share. This one, like most of the others, was immediately notable for the lack of parking spaces.

The most interesting feature was the tower in the photograph, which, I was told, is the largest Van de Graaff generator in the world. I don't know if that's true but it was certainly the largest one as far as I could see.
