the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month
So like putting everything that life has thrown my way over the past two months in perspective, the truth of the matter has emerged; living - again - in England has been one hell of a bitch! And as we all know:
"Bitches don't play"
Life gives us lessons and exit exams (I've realized perhaps too late) each and every day and if we're not prepared to accept and learn from them, we're doomed to repeat them. All of the mistakes of our past, our present and - God forbid - our future as well, will be revisited time and time again.
Most - if not all - of you were not around on the "11th day of the 11th month" lo those many years ago, but, if you're reading this, you're around now and with that thought in mind (and your head spinning as in "where the hell is he heading now")
Kiss the person "to whom you're related by marriage" and say you're "sorry" to your first born, the pair of them will appreciate it as will you
Reasons be damned
Okay then, this photo was taken, while walking from the London Road remembrance ceremony,
Coventry's, is admittedly not as elaborate and grandiose as the one down in London, but then how could it be, we don't have a "Queen" here - (well we do, but they prefer to stay ensconced in closets) - we do have personal and very touching memories of life as it once was, before the 'employees' of Herr Goering came a'calling one night - and naturally the return visit as well -
So like when leaving I realized that - in my mind anyway - this memorial pretty much summed up what "Armistice" day was really all about, or should be, what the ultimate sacrifice was for - the ones left behind -
"War is not healthy for children or other living things"
May you all, walk in and enjoy peace, now and forever more
