Sunny Sutors

A  beautiful day for a walk up South Sutor!  This is the view to North Sutor, between being one of the deepest stretches of coastal waters in Britain. Cruise liners pass through regularly in summer, seeming to tower above the cliffs and almost touch the sides!
There are the remains of old wartime coastal defences on either side and a submarine net was stretched between the two points to protect shipping.
The bird life was good seeing Curlew, Oystercatcher, Redshank, Gt.Crested Grebe, Pipits, Woodpecker, Fieldfare, Whooper Swans, Pink footed Geese, Sisking, Chaffinches and Goldfinches. Both coastal and woodland species enjoying the sun.
