Karen

I met up with Karen for lunch. We worked together as Environmental Health Officers back in the late 70s and early 80s -along with Steve, Nicky and Anita. Our quest was to rid the Borough of Kirklees of noisy neighbours, smoky chimneys, industrial bonfires, trade waste, nuisance ice cream chimes, barking dogs, rats, mice and all kinds of other unmentionable things. Those were the days when we had office tea ladies , mileage allowances and a typing pool. Computers and mobile phones were unheard of.

We worked together again in the late 1990s as managers in the Environmental Protection section.

We always have tales to tell and it was good to catch up on things over lunch at Med-One in Huddersfield.
