Ringing the start bell at Wilton Sheep Fair. Could well be the last time, XXX hundred houses to be built on the field. There has been a sheep fair in Wilton in its present form since 1888, and on this site since 1960. Nobody knows what the future of the fair is. On the other side of the road was HQ Land Command. Now moved to Andover and hundreds of houses going up by the railway line. Even talk of re opening the old station on the Salisbury -Warminster route.
