First snow today

The first serious snow of the winter fell early this morning (we had an introductory dusting a few weeks' ago).  About half an inch of snow fell, enough to cover the river embankment and the roof of the Kremlin and to bring out the snowploughs.  Contrast this blip with the same vista and cold clear sky on Guy Fawkes Night.  This is the same view probably over 100 years ago.
