Lock it up

A 5 yr old pointed this at me on a visit today. Its not a toy but an air rifle (I think) which his uncle uses to kill birds. It just lies around the house. I was so cross. His mum just laughed. His brother told me not to worry, if he fired it it wouldn't kill just injure and be a bit painful. I took it and put it up high on a wardrobe. This kind of thing makes me mad. Recently a boy in our neighbourhood has taken to shooting at birds and cats- I'm dreading the day a child gets hit. I'm never going to get used to gun culture.
