Today's the day ......................... to uncover the past

Will's been working hard today inside the fitted wardrobe in our bedroom.

He's taken out the old shelving and drawers - and replaced them with the new IKEA stuff that we bought last Saturday.  We're pretty sure that the wardrobe has been the way it was since the house was built in 1937 - so it's not before time to be upgrading it a bit.  The interesting thing was that in the course of taking out the old stuff, he came across the above homemade tag that must have been attached to a Christmas present once upon a time.  And because we know the history of our house and how it came to be built in the first place, we actually know the 'Pat' who wrote the label on her Mum's present.

We've lost touch with Pat because she went away to live in France some years ago - but I bet she would smile to see this reminder of the past again ............................
