Watching the detectives
TallGirl having a go with her stealth wildlife camera. I did point out that she had put it mere yards from the kitchen window, from where we can, in fact, see the bird table she was filming quite clearly... But she was unmoved. Turns out the camera doesn't work as it should anyway, but my attempts to help her navigate the menu were firmly rebuffed (well, sighingly, irritatedly, rebuffed, which comes to the same thing). So, I suspect it will carry on not working.
In other news, more garden stuff. The wood that I thought I was supposed to use to fix the shed to the concrete, turned out (after a very very long hunt) to in fact be wood that is being carefully saved for a future purpose. Not sure how I got the wrong end of the plank on that, but it is a common theme for the day.
With Mr B too busy to call this evening, and the kids very much not friends with me after I rudely asked them to hold the end of a measuring tape in the garden, thus tearing them away from telly lounging (just to clarify, they didn't help in the end), I may call my Mam for some company.
Watching a rather emotional start to the England-France football match has me in a melancholy mood. Maybe I'll just run away with my book instead.
An oddly unsatisfying day, considering it was one where loads got done, but hopefully tomorrow - also promising to be a busy one - will end on a more positive note. Now, where did I hide my chocolate...
