A DAMAGED TREE
we discovered on our walk towards the river Diemel.
That tree had stood always so majestically in the meadow along the Diemel and we were taken aback and wondered what had happened to the poor tree.
Tonight there had been a storm, I had been awake several times, wondering if everything would be allright outside. Happily it was.
The weather had changed a bit during the day, but we had not so much luck on our walk, weatherwise. No wind to speak of, but only moments that the sun could smile through the clouds.
We noticed that the French flag was hanging half-mast outside the Rathaus. A respectful sign.
The cancelled football match in Hannover between the Netherlands and Germany had had our full interest, yesterday evening. So many happenings at the same time now, suddenly.
My haiku:
I could not tell all
Thoughts that go through me during
A stormy night
And the proverb:
To sing (or sit) with a thorn against the breast.
1594 Shakespeare. Lucrece, 1135.
