Street scene in Saintes

Mr F has been roped in to teaching English at the AVF on Wednesdays, when the other teacher can't make it. When he arrived last week, the lady on reception, who is English herself, asked (in French) how it was that he could speak such good English to be able to do the conversation class with the advanced class!
When he explained that he is in fact English, she then asked how he he speaks such good French to confuse her into thinking he was French! Maybe the truly bilingual people round here steer clear of the AVF as it doesn't sound like she meets many of them.
Anyway, I dropped him off and did a bit of Christmas shopping, arranging to meet up afterwards for coffee. I went into the green fronted coffee shop in the photo, and outside there was a little band and tap dancers which were being filmed by the local tv station.
