Canned
A walk to the garden centre at Notcutts occupied the morning, going there to see about Christmas presents for me from Cotswold Outdoors. A successful trip, purchasing two garments.
We've a loyalty card for Notcutts that gives two free cups of coffee a month in their cafe. Had this card ages but never used it until today. The coffee was accompanied by a quite solid cheese scone.
While Susan browsed the seemingly unlimited Christmas gifts I mooched around the garden centre bit, didn't buy anything but was rather attracted by this display of watering cans. Noticed too, again, that Christmas in the UK seems to come in large cardboard boxes in huge containers from China.
Spent most of the afternoon in front of the computer screen except for getting soaked on a run later on. Had a text from Chris in San Diego to say their offer on a house had been accepted, so they are on the verge of joining the property owning demographic. Good luck to them. We'll see the property when we go and see them next April.
Made the next batch of pickled onions in the evening and rounded off the day by inviting three traders to come and quote to replace some flat roofs we have that are well over 10 years old. Tempted to wait another year but not wanting to leave it so long we get a leak.
