Mother and Child
I'm in a bit of a blip-funk at the moment... Sorry for the lack of comments (ie time on the site). I'll get back into it in a few days, I'm sure...
This was taken at the child health clinic this afternoon. The place was empty thanks to the very hot day (36C), which meant we didn't have to wait in line and could enjoy their air conditioning and toys at leisure. This is our photo in the wonky wall mirror.
The toddler is to be encouraged to talk more. She talks non-stop- it's just that none of it is in words any of us can understand! (Maybe we're all a bit thick?) We have to stop pre-empting her requests and stop translating her articulations for her, and get her to say what she wants.
So we tried that this evening. (Not that we haven't been, previously). Hat sounds like 'ah', and nappy sounds like 'mammy'. Shoe is 'do'. But Mummy is 'Mummy!' :)
