Derry Hill (Saturday 21st November 2015)

I had an invigorating walk alongside the golf course on the Bowood estate this afternoon but the light was poor and the shots I took were undistinguished. The general stores I blipped a couple of days ago were in Quemerford, a district on the eastern edge of Calne, but the Village Stores pictured here are in the village of Derry Hill, in Church Road, about three miles from Calne, very close to the Chippenham parish border.

This single is from his album In The Right Place, produced by the great Allen Toussaint with the studio house band the Meters in New Orleans, and features Robbie Montgomery and Jessie Smith from the Ikettes on back-up vocals.
