Shabby chic-ing

This is an old mirror that my mother had in pride of place in our hall. It was gold and I never did like it. It was very fancy and ...gold.

Now, with the lovely chalk paint on it and bits rubbed off - the gold is shining through and is looking pretty good I think! You can see it's a work in progress with all the paint dust still apparent!!

It's so wonderful to have time now to do these things that are just waiting for some attention...this and a bit of embroidering over my felt picture.

Fire on again tonight in the height of this Scottish Summer! Off to the parentals tomorrow til Monday.
