High line

WOW, everyone has recommended the High Line so we started our trip proper with that and it does not disappoint - it's so brilliant to see the city from that height, we loved how much of the railway is still in place, how uncommercial the whole enterprise is and yet remains entirely free.
It ends in the meatpacking district where we breakfasted before spending the rest of the day mooching around Greenwich village.

The buildings around Washington Square Park, the park itself, MacDougal and Bleeker Streets were all highlights - as was the friendliness and excellent service we experienced everywhere.
