National Portrait Gallery
We flew into London's Heathrow this morning, took the tube to our usual hotel at Earls Court, had our recovery nap, and headed for the Portrait Gallery late in the afternoon.
We had just discovered a wonderful surprise on the net: An exhibition of Giacometti portraits. It is superb, with ca. 60 works (sculptures, paintings and drawings), spaciously displayed. A real treat, since Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) is among my very favorite 20th century artists.
