Gloomy

Walk from Wooler Common on to Brown's Law this morning in VERY high winds - difficult to stand upright at times. And difficult to stay still enough to take a clear shot or two (the splodge on the photo is a spot of rain on the camera lens). Grey and gloomy. Back to the flat to warm up!

Lu and I had a wander around Wooler before a quick lunch. Then she packed her bags and we set off to Barter Books in Alnwick. Always nice to browse through their huge stock of second-hand books (we only bought a few...) and to watch the trains chuffing along the track on their model railway suspended high above the book shelves. We treated ourselves to coffee and cake in the Buffet cafe - lucky enough to find a table next to the roaring fire!

Off to Alnmouth for a very short walk on the beach in the rain and on to Newcastle to drop Lu off at the station to catch her train home. Seemed hardly any time at all since she arrived...
