Olympic Torch in Bakewell

After numerous meetings the Olympic torch finally arrived in Bakewell and it was brilliant.
A fun filled day at the recreation ground with the dancing from Lady Manners School proving to be the biggest hit.
I was pleasantly surprised that the corporate and police presence that goes with the torch event actually added to the occasion heightening the expectation for when the torch arrived.
I've never seen so many people in Bakewell, thousands lined the streets.
As I was walking home I overheard a little girl excitedly say that she'd 'touched the torch'.
She had a bandage on her hand so maybe that wasn't such a good idea!
