Home again

Had my best night of sleep since the operation, and felt good this morning. Surgeon led ward round. Doing well. Almost ready for discharge. Checked with the Fellow, who said they'd mentioned Friday. Agreement and off they went leaving me with words of encouragement to keep doing what I was doing. An hour or so later I went off for a circuit of the ward on crutches, and my nurse of the day approached me with my discharge papers. Great chaos as I had to recontact S who had started on a whole lot of different tasks, and arrange to be collected. Not the best discharge process in the world.

However, I am now home and we were able to enjoy a bowl of home made soup on the deck in the evening sun. Earlier I had sat outside reading and I took this photo while sitting in my chair. 

I suspect that it will be hard to not get better here.
