Traitors, heresy and high treason

London Day 6

I went on a walking ghost tour this evening. We visited several places around the Square Mile including Farringdon Station, Charterhouse Square, Smithfield Market, St.Batholomew's Church West Smithfield, St. Barts Hospital, Newgate and the Old Bailey.

Smithfield Market (pictured) was one of the most important locations for public execution in the City of London and the scene of some of the most brutal tortures.

Tomorrow I hope to go to the Imperial War Museum.
