In case it's not wet enough!!

Village Sports day and spoilt for choice as far as Blips concerned. The weather held off remarkably well and there was a good attendance on The Green at 2pm. Good to see all the children having a great time with all the old favourites, forget the 100 metres try egg and spoon, three legged race and wheeelbarrow. Adults participating too and falling all over the wet grass. After an hour a big black cloud loomed, thunder, lightning and a mass retreat into the hall for a cream tea earlier than scheduled by half an hour. Nobody minded, back out into the sunshine and blue sky for other ridiculous but fun activities like Yorkshire pudding hurling, egg throwing and a wet sponge battle captured here on Blip. The barbecue cooked outside under an awning produced the usual blackened sausages and burgers. Meal eaten in the hall where tables laden with salads and big bowls of strawberries for 'afters'. A more dignified game of quoits taking place between adults when I left. Still dry and a very pleasant evening to top off the day.
Now for a relaxing last hour as I settle to watch Richard 11. Must record it as I'll never make it to the end before I will need to go to bed.
