Homespun Charms

Maybug -

- or Cockchafer. 'One of our best- known beetles, familiar for flying around on late Spring evenings making a loud humming sound.'
So how come I haven't seen one before? This one was found lurking in a rose that was about to be 'deadheaded'. Apparently the larvae are destructive to cereal crops so no friend to the farmer.
I've had such a lazy day, decided to rest my foot, desperate for it to mend. It has been hurting largely because I have tried to ignore it and carry on as usual. Today I propped it up and spent a couple of hours on my tapestry. Then had a good workout on the piano which I have badly neglected lately. I only managed to watch half an hour of Richard 11 last night so it was a great pleasure to enjoy that later in the afternoon. The Derek Jacobi prog. following was very interesting though I was startled to learn he didn't believe Shakespeare wrote it! The debate on that score continues.
Altogether a varied day and not unpleasant though I wouldn't want to repeat being so inactive too often.
