People on a Bridge

All moved out

Today is the last day of our lease with the university housing. As soon as I am done taking care of all things online (we don't have the internet hooked up at the new house yet), I am disconnecting the computer, picking it up, and we are driving away not to come back.

Thank you, Old House, for 3.5 years of great memories. For being so close to our department we were able to walk to work. For keeping us warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. For being so much more roomy than any place in which we've ever lived. For all the gatherings of friends, for all the quiet family movie nights, for all the special weekend breakfasts. Thank you for housing the massive Thomas the Train cities, for all the pretend indoor football games, and for all the art-making dates with neighbors' kids. Thanks for having enough wall space to hang all of our art, even the pieces we no longer like as much as we once did. Thank you for giving us the chance to meet Little Man's best friends across the street and their lovely parents; we will no doubt all remain friends regardless of any subsequent moves on anybody's part.

May the next family feel as blessed within your walls as we did.
