1.5 Million in the Dark
Yesterday's excessive 40.5 C heat ended with extremely severe thunderstorms. Winds blew in excess of 80 mph in some locations and took out power to over 1 million homes and businesses in the Washington, DC area. Our power went out at 10:45 p.m. and is still out as far as I know. It could take several days to get powered restored.
Slept horribly last night mostly because of the high humidity and quiet. Got up early this morning, took a couple pictures of this rose and then made arrangements to stay at a hotel.
Since the hotel room wasn't going to be ready until after 1 p.m., we camped out in my office for a couple of hours today. Checked in the hotel, went to an early dinner, and now may head out to the local mall to check out Apple's new offerings....
Another round of severe weather is possible again tonight - Let's hope the power doesn't go out at the hotel...
The wireless speed at the hotel pretty much stinks so I am not even going to try and comment tonight.
Have a good night.
