Maastricht

We made a visit to Maastricht about 35 miles south of where we are staying. The satnav said we should get there in 55 minutes. Possibly, but it took us an hour to cover the last 2.7 miles on the motorway.

Today has been hot, bright and sunny. Not even a hint of a shower. In fact perfect weather. A trip along the Maas was followed by an ice cream. Both were interspaced with strolls around the town. In a shop we happened to pass I am afraid I bought a garden lantern. I expect I will find space for it on the way back.

The return at the end of the afternoon was made boring by an almost traffic free motorway! All the above followed by a pleasant evening in the garden of the hotel with beer and wine.
