DERELICT DOOR

I had seen the announcement a week ago and had made a note in my agenda. Sebastian Seitz will sing Schubert's Winterreise in the Landgrafensaal at 17 pm on 29 november. And Piet Hein and I went to this concert, although for a moment we dreaded the sombre weather.
It happened that the baritone Seitz was born not far from here and had had singing lessons in our town, when he was only eleven years old.
Now he sings in operas, gives Lied performances. Has followed masterclasses by Thomas Hampson and Brigitte Fassbaender a.o.
The room was crowded, and afterwards one of our neighbours pointed to a lovely elegant lady and said: That is his mother!
We enjoyed the cyclus so very much, there were wonderful magic moments and at some points we felt tears behind our eyes.
My haiku:
Moved to tears by music
That goes through our heart and soul
Eternal beauty
And the proverb:
Every door may be shut but death's door.
