Dawyck Botanical Gardens closed today for three months over the winter.  So this was an excellent opportunity for a catch-up with Colin McLean Photography over an excellent coffee and a stroll around the garden.

We may have been the only ones there.  The brash autumnal colours have mostly gone - yellow and oranges have largely been replaced by reds and browns.  We headed up the hill to a densely wooded area and I was really taken by the densely packed birches - reminded me of some paintings by Klimt.  It was up besides the Cryptogamic Sanctuary!

Dawyck is such a delight.  It would be good to spend some more time there next tear.
