Looking ever so slightly embarrassed......

I have known Cathy and Philip since 1978 when I worked with Cathy at Southampton General Hospital. I was an SHO and she was the senior registrar on the team. She was very efficient at work and trained us juniors well.

Philip came on the scene soon afterwards and they have raised 4 children, now very grown up. We have met occasionally over the years and it is always a delight.

They live in Dorset, but are staying for a few days with one of their daughters in Newcastle. We met at Le Bouchon in Hexham (superb lunch in a French restaurant) and then repaired to our house so that they could see Mum. We caught up and reminisced.

Today started with the walking festival committee meeting. We have 3 new members so it was a bit crowded around the table at Marie and Tony's house. The meeting went very well and we are thrilled that Geoff, Ann and Audrey have joined us.
