Drowned Dog (Almost)
Back blip . Another same type Sunday as last week. Made different only by the almost loss of Silly Dog. His one pleasure in life (apart from food) is to chase a ball. If we let him, he would chase a ball all day, in the garden, along the hallway of the house and best of all, on the beach.
Mr L on the late shift meant I walked Dog after Mr L had left but before the threatened rain came in. The wind however was strong and wild, and the tide was right in, high as it can be. Dog didn't care! We walked along the shingle, me throwing The ball, Dog fetching it back, dropping at my feet and waiting for the next throw. And then, the ball bounced on a stone and tumbled down the dune into the water. The photo doesn't really show how steep the dunes are, and I snapped it seconds before the huge wave crashed up the dune, taking the ball back up the dune and the dog out with the water. It didn't matter, Dog was determined to find the ball in the water, not realising it was up on the dune. Thank goodness for the wellies! I still got quite wet, dragging him out, and all he wanted was for me to throw the ball as soon as he saw it!
