St Bartholomews Church, Orford, Suffolk

Orford is said to be a small town on the east coast of Suffolk, in reality it is a largish village.
St Bartholomew's Church stands high in the village and has fine views over the castle and Orfordness.   It was built between 1170 and 1220 and there are still Norman ruins in the churchyard.   It has had many additions from many periods since then, the latest in 1978 when the tower was rebuilt.
It has, apparently, very fine acoustics and was much loved by  the late Benjamin Britten, several of his church parables were first performed here.
