Salvador - the African heartland of Brazil!

Yesterday we flew north from Iguazu Falls to the middle of Brazil. Salvador's historical center is a huge tourist hub and such a beautiful sight!

Today we spent the day on the beach! It was such a cultural experience. After a long walk along the coast we found a small patch of sand and haggled a local man to rent an umbrella and 2 chairs. The beaches are so packed full of people, there is no concept of personal space! We spent the day people watching and eating BBQ'd cheese on a stick of until the sun went down!
