A wonderful evening meeting up with an old school friend who I haven't seen since we left school thirty-one years ago. Time is no barrier to friendship; he is still the same delightful person I remember from all those years before and the chronological abyss between just disappeared and we resumed our friendship as if we had last met yesterday. A giddying and magical experience that I cannot wait to repeat in a few weeks' time.

Reflecting on the past with David, I realised I don't just think the world was a sunny day; I know it was.
