Rolling Back The Years

I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet my secondary school teacher from Wakefords School at lunchtime today. He was always my favourite teacher and I remember him fondly for introducing me to Wordsworth (Tintern Abbey made a particularly strong impact on me) and Shakespeare (Henry V) and making me realise that I could access and appreciate classic literature and that it was not something closed to "people like me." Without Mr. Jenkins, it is quite possible that I would not have pursued my academic career through the study of English Literature. Delighted to find that he is still the fine and distinguished gentleman I remember.
