Partying in the street
Yesterday we went to Bonfim Church, a famous and beautiful church where the African slaves combined their traditional religion with Catholicism. The colourful bracelets are tied to the church fence with three knots while you make 3 wishes, and once the bracelet falls off, the wishes will come true. As we tried to navigate ourselves home on local buses, we got on the wrong bus which resulted in us riding for 2.5 hours before returning home!
Tuesday night in Salvador is party night. So we headed out with everyone from our hostel and drank and danced all night in the street with local drum bands! The night ended at a Samba club which was hot and sweaty but lots of fun watching the locals dance. Many locals and fellow travelers were impressed by Cam's dancing (as usual).
Ps. We don't have many photos of Salvador as we left our camera and phones in the hostel as this city is known for its high crime rate on tourists! #dodgy
