Attingham Park

This National Trust property, close to Shrewsbury, is undergoing a very special renovation, ready for next season.

The expensively commissioned Picture Gallery, designed by Nash for the second Lord Berwick, has just had a multi-million new roof, to stop it leaking (although it had leaked for the 300 years since it was built).

I loved the brightness and design of this staircase, leading  nowhere.

A magnificent day out - lovely people and a great tour.  The park was looking super.  And the a delicious Christmas dinner at The Four Alls, not far from Market Drayton.
