Shroppie

The Met Office tells lies. This morning we were promised sunshine. It rained. This afternoon we were told it would be cloudy. It is sunny.

Currently, Marjorie is making her way North on the Shropshire Union Canal, quite a new canal, being less than 200 years old. At its Southern beginning it has a lock with a rise of just six inches, at the insistence of the owners of the Staffordshire and Worcester Canal, from which it proceeds, who didn't want their water to be stolen.

This Blip is a famous Shroppie landmark - the High Bridge, with its telegraph pole on the lower arch at, I understand, the behest of a local landed family who didn't want their view to be spoiled.
