A valuable tree
The sycamore tree that I planted in our garden 30 odd years ago in our garden has been studying art for some time and now has produced a very passable caricature of Edvard Munch's The Scream
The Scream is the popular name given to each of four versions of a composition, Der Schrei der Natur (The Scream of Nature) that Munch created between 1893 and 1910.
The fourth version, a pastel dated 1895, was sold for $119,922,600 at Sotheby's Impressionist and Modern Art auction on 2 May 2012 to financier Leon Black, the second highest nominal price paid for a painting at auction. Best fell our tree and send it down to Sotheby's I reckon!
