Ouch!!

This is my poor left thumb tonight! It is quite painful and throbbing after a bizarre incident during a football cup tie I was reffing today in Nottingham.
At the kick-off to start the match the player receiiving the first pass kicked the ball very hard indeed (and unintentionally I believe) straignt at me from only about ten feet away.
There was no history and I did not know him!
The ball hit me on this thumb, crushing it against my chest and bursting a blood vessel under the nail!
Massive bleeding - and I had to suspend play for a few minutes to have the thumb treated and plastered up.
Player responsible very apologetic.
Six hours later and the thumb is still throbbing a lot!!
Loads of sympathy please.
