Flames of hope in Blipfuture!
These particular flames were also very useful when the power went off again today, but only for about 30 mins. So far! The fierce winds of storm Desmond continue to batter us and, it seems, are likely to continue into the night and tomorrow morning. So far we've been lucky and escaped the rain but, as we're still under an 'Amber' rain warning, it could still arrive.
Why on earth have they started naming storms? The name Desmond conjures up pictures (in my warped brain, anyway) of an elderly gentleman in his cardi and slippers. Or Desmond Tutu. Storm Desmond, on the other hand, is a real thug that's rampaging over Scotland and the north of England wreaking havoc - terrible floods, uprooting trees and damaging buildings...
