Before the iPad there was . . .
So, you may well be wondering what this interesting and colourful looking gadget is that I've uploaded as my blip for today. Say hello to the Flash Pad which I think you should note, came way before the iPad.
I found this electronic co-ordination testing game that my mother purchased from the states for me via mail order some years ago when I was a wee teenager. I always to take it into the classroom during the early days of my primary school TA career and the children loved it.
Unfortunately, the Flash Pad got put away during a house move some years ago and has been hiding in a little box at the back of my garage labelled "School Learning Stuff" which had all sorts of old worksheets and things inside.
I'm chuffed to find this old toy and even more chuffed that it still works as it did all those years ago with the same batteries et all.
Mum is getting much better slowly. I had a long 45 minute conversation this evening about the importance of life and not knowing what's round the corner which was partly provoked by my mothers recent illness but also the fact that myself and grandpa lost a very special friend earlier this week, the man we purchased our little house in Bulgaria from back in 2007!
Sadly he suffered an onset heart attack one night and couldn't be saved. He will always be remembered for his cheeriness and constant happy go luck attitude.
I spoke to his widowed wife yesterday afternoon and we both wept a few tears whilst reminiscing the best parts of our times together.
We will visit the family house next time we travel to our little timeshare apartment in the Scottish Highlands as she is based about half and hour from the border with Scotland and England and on the route we always take.
I have finally gotten rid of my old metal double bed from my first flat when I was 17 years old, I will be 28 in July and swapped it for a nice cream metal day bed which opens up my little mezzanine bedroom area nicely and gives me more space to move around and manoeuvre things.
On that note it's to the day bed or should it be night bed for me. Shouts for Boo-Boo. G'nite !! :-)
