Shearwater Lake
Returning home from a 70th birthday party in Chippenham, we decided to leave the main road at Crockerton (near Warminster) and drive across country on the lanes. Shearwater Lake, surrounded by trees, is part of Lord Bath's Longleat Estate, designed over 37 acres in 1791 by a Francis Drake of Bridgwater, Somerset. It is now one of the country's top fishing spots and there is also a dinghy sailing club, but this evening all was calm with the occasional cries of water fowl and the sound of a fishing line being reeled in.
Back at the ranch, T and the contractors had missed the heavy showers and were able to get the rest of the silage grass to the pit although not yet covered and there is rain tonight!
