Village postman

No not really! It is the beginning of Carnival week in the village and there is a scarecrow competition. This is the post office's contribution. Tonight there is a disco for the children in the village hall and other events throughout the week ending with the Carnival procession. T used to be one of the floats' tractor drivers when he was younger, havn't heard anything from him this year. He'll probably be busy baling hay before it rains. By the way, the silage they made the other day was very successful so in a few months there should be a sweet smell around the silage pit!

Visited our former neighbour who lost her husband last year to Motor Neuron disease. J has moved to a smaller house in the village over the hill and it is really homely. She is doing so well as it is not easy for her. T has been working for the contractor again this morning and then this afternoon he has been turning the grass for haymaking. There is a very heavy crop this year due in part to having spread lime over the field.
