A flower gift

The other day I had another of many xmas meals with friends and one of the girls bought us each a gift of a home grown flower.  I was told what it was, but by the time I got home the name had completely left me. So I know someone out there will help me out in identifying it.

I thought it would be a suitable subject for Flower Friday - thanks to Biker Bear for hosting.  It is always so delightful to have a flower blooming in Winter.
