Friday: View From The Window

Newman and Clare invited us over for a chicken dinner tonight - this was the view out of the window.  Newman has family out in the countryside and got the chicken from them.  It must be the freshest we have ever had - without putting too fine a point on it, it was running around three weeks ago.

Ted Walker's memoir 'The High Path' is a lovely memoir of growing up in Sussex in the 1930's. through to the 1950's.  One of those memoirs that does so well in evoking another time and another place.
