Friends & guests Rob & Di are staying with us tonight so we thought we'd light the lounge fire; admittedly mostly to check everything really was OK after the sweeping and before we needed it in earnest.

Learnt today that yesterday had been the last day at work for my former team at Mediatek following the entire team being made redundant.  A spectacularly blinkered decision, but not especially surprising.

As with my 'retirement' this time last year their last day coincided with the Christmas 'do at Madingley Hall.  I hope they got as good a send off as I had.  My comments from that date are very much still relevant.
