Forget about looking left and right. The buggers come from every direction! I was taught feet before wheels, sail before steam... apparently that reasonably sensible rule never made it here. Too many tulip bulbs in the diet, methinks.

Walked Janet some fifteen miles around Amsterdam today. We covered most of the tourist routes in the city, but left the actual museums for tomorrow, when it's supposed to be a tad wet. Everyone is very friendly and polite - ignoring the very polite but insane cyclists, who might indeed be friendly but never stopped long enough to let us know, or in fact at all.
