Northumberlandia

It was nice to have a slow and lazy morning, knowing that I didn’t  have to get up for anything in particular.  The most strenuous thing we did all morning was go out to buy a newspaper. After a lovely roast lunch cooked by Uncle J, we visited Northumberlandia. The morning had been lovely and bright, but the afternoon turned very dark and grey, so maybe not the best afternoon to visit.

Northumberlandia is a piece of landscape art, of a reclining lady, designed by Charles Jencks. The sculpture is located in a very industrial environment, and I was just as interested in the massive hole immediately behind the sculpture which is an open cast mine (see extra).

We got home quite late and had to get organised for Monday.  The weekend always passes far too quickly.

Here are TT, BB and his Auntie E walking around Northumberlandia.
